Summary
In 1374 Japan, while rival courts struggle for power, young Oniyasha grows up among the Kanze troupe of sarugaku performers.
As the son of troupe leader Kan'ami, Oniyasha is surrounded by acting, song, and dance, yet he cannot understand why performance matters. An encounter with a dance that feels truly alive pushes him to watch people, politics, and art with new eyes, as he begins to search for his own answer on the stage.
Set during the Muromachi period and inspired by the youth of the future Noh master Zeami, the story follows a sensitive boy finding his place in a changing world where art and power are never far apart.
