Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Anime Finder uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, keep accounts secure, remember basic preferences and display embedded content.

Overview

How Anime Finder uses cookies

Anime Finder uses cookies and similar technologies to make the website work, keep user accounts secure, remember basic choices and help protect the website from misuse.

Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. These may include cookies used for login sessions, account security, form protection and other core website features.

Anime Finder may also display YouTube trailer thumbnails and embedded YouTube trailers. Trailer thumbnails may be requested from YouTube/Google servers before the full video player is loaded. Embedded third-party content can use cookies or similar technologies when it is loaded or played.

Cookies and similar technologies

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They can help websites remember information between pages, such as whether you are logged in or which settings you selected.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, embedded content tools or other browser-based storage used to provide website features.

In this policy, when we say “cookies”, we also mean similar technologies where appropriate.

Strictly necessary cookies

Cookies needed for Anime Finder to work

  • Session cookies that help keep you logged in while using account features.
  • Security cookies or tokens used to protect forms, account actions and login-related requests.
  • Cookies or similar storage needed to route requests, maintain website stability or prevent misuse.
  • Technical data used to help protect Anime Finder from spam, bots, unauthorised access and other abuse.

These cookies are necessary for the website to operate and cannot usually be switched off through Anime Finder.

Preferences

Preference cookies and local settings

Anime Finder may use cookies or browser storage to remember basic preferences, such as display choices, language-related settings, filter states or other interface options.

These preferences are used to make the website easier to use. If you clear your browser cookies or storage, some preferences may reset.

Embedded trailers

YouTube trailers

Anime Finder may display YouTube trailer thumbnails on anime pages. These thumbnails may be requested from YouTube/Google servers before the full video player is loaded. When this happens, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser/device information and request details.

The full YouTube video player is loaded only when you choose to load or play a trailer. When the player loads, YouTube/Google may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information such as cookie identifiers, browser/device information and video interaction data according to Google’s own privacy terms.

Where possible, Anime Finder may use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode for the full trailer player.

Analytics and advertising

No advertising cookies at launch

Anime Finder does not currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or social media login cookies.

If we add analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, social media embeds or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required, ask for your consent before using them.

We may still use technical server logs and security records to keep Anime Finder stable, secure and protected from abuse. These are explained in our Privacy Policy.

Managing cookies

How to control cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies, delete existing cookies or receive a warning before cookies are stored.

If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of Anime Finder may not work correctly. For example, you may not be able to stay logged in or use account features.

You can avoid loading the full embedded YouTube player by not playing or loading the trailer. If trailer thumbnails are shown, your browser may still request the thumbnail image from YouTube/Google.

Updates

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when Anime Finder changes, when we add or remove cookies, or when legal or technical requirements change.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when this Cookie Policy was last changed.
