Where we get personal information from
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice.
Account information, including your email address, username, password hash, account settings and profile settings, is kept while your account remains active.
Public profile information, anime list entries, anime watch status, scores or ratings, favourites, likes, follows/followers and personalised recommendation data are kept while your account remains active, unless you delete or change that information earlier.
Contact form messages, support requests and anime data reports are usually kept for up to 24 months after the last response or action, unless we need to keep them longer to deal with a dispute, legal request, abuse report or security issue.
Security logs, login activity, IP addresses, browser/device information and spam prevention records are usually kept for up to 180 days, unless we need to keep them longer to investigate abuse, protect the website or comply with legal requirements.
Transactional email records, such as delivery logs for login links, verification emails, password reset emails and account notices, are kept only as long as needed for delivery, security, troubleshooting and record keeping.
Backup copies may retain deleted or changed information for a limited period until they are overwritten or deleted during our normal backup rotation.
We may keep some information for longer if required by law, to protect our legal rights, to resolve disputes, or to prevent abuse of Anime Finder.
Who we share information with
Statnet provides VPS/server hosting used to run Anime Finder’s website, application, database, files, backups and related infrastructure. They may process technical information such as account data stored in the database, IP addresses, server logs, security logs, contact form data, anime list data, profile data and other information needed to operate the website.
dPoczta / dhosting.pl provides email hosting and SMTP delivery services used to send transactional emails from Anime Finder, such as login links, verification codes, password reset emails, account security notices and support replies. They may process email addresses, email content, delivery information and related technical logs.
Anime Finder may display YouTube trailer thumbnails and embedded YouTube trailers. Trailer thumbnails may be requested from YouTube/Google servers before the full video player is loaded. When this happens, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser/device information and request details.
The full YouTube video player is loaded when you choose to load or play a trailer. At that point, YouTube/Google may process additional information such as cookie identifiers and video interaction data according to Google’s own privacy terms. Where possible, we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode.
