Uchi no Shishou wa Shippo ga Nai

Mameda is a young tanuki girl determined to follow in her father's tricks, who used to love fooling humans until technology rendered the tradition useless.

One day, she sets off to Osaka with very high hopes - only to fail to deceive a single person and be chased by an angry crowd. She finds refuge in a theater, where she stumbles upon a rakugo performance by master Bunko Daikokutei. Mesmerized by the vivid stories, she decides to become Bunko's apprentice.

Bunko is reluctant at first, but Mameda's resolve convinces her to teach her. She now has to juggle her apprenticeship with taiko and her work at the theater, if she wants to master the only art still able to fool people.
