Summary
During Japan’s postwar economic boom, traveling circuses compete across the country for a place in the prestigious Circus Collection festival. Among them is the cash-strapped Sunflower Circus, a small troupe led by ringmaster Maria as it moves from town to town in search of an audience.
When gifted circus performer Mizuka Tsurumaki joins the group, the troupe’s everyday struggles take on new energy. The story follows young performers living and working on the road, mixing historical slice-of-life drama with the discipline, rivalry, and fragile hopes behind the circus stage.
