Summary
Middle school friends Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki encounter Kyubey, a mysterious creature who offers to grant each of them one wish. In return, they must become magical girls and fight witches, dangerous beings that spread despair through the city.
As the transfer student Homura Akemi repeatedly warns Madoka against accepting the contract, the promise of magic begins to reveal a far darker cost. The story combines supernatural battles with psychological tension, tragedy, and an intense focus on friendship, sacrifice, and the consequences of choosing hope in a cruel system.
