The gods had granted protection to mankind, but at a cost. It was time for a new era, and the survivors of humanity were given a chance to start over. The students of Sanshu Middle School's Hero Club had fulfilled their duties to Taisha and could now enjoy their youth as regular students. But the cost of their success was high.

In the 298th year of the Divine Era, Mebuki Kusunoki competed to become the next hero, but was beaten by Karin Miyoshi. Mebuki was furious at Taisha's decision. Two years later, Mebuki was appointed commander of the Sentinels, a group sent to explore unknown territory beyond the barrier. What seemed like a simple mission soon became dangerous, putting innocent lives at stake.

Mebuki was determined to prove her worth as a hero and vowed to bring everyone back alive, no matter what it took. With courage and strength, she set out on her quest.
