Summary
Ippo Makunouchi is a teenager who has to help his mom run her fishing boat rental business. He often gets picked on by bullies and one day, he is saved by a boxer named Mamoru Takamura. Takamura takes Ippo to a boxing gym, where he meets Masaru Aoki and Tatsuya Kimura. They are amazed by Ippo's strong punches, which were developed from working hard for his family.
Ippo starts to learn boxing under Takamura and even challenges the best boxer, Ichirou Miyata. He also gets a coach called Genji Kamogawa, a former boxer himself. Ippo then goes on a journey to become a great boxer and faces many challenges along the way. His hard body and strong spirit helps him take on the world and become the best!
