Ping Pong the Animation

Makoto "Smile" Tsukimoto and Yutaka "Peco" Hoshino have been best friends since childhood, despite their contrasting personalities. Smile is quiet and reserved, while Peco is loud and energetic. Both are naturally talented at table tennis and members of the Katase High School ping-pong team. However, Smile often holds back his true potential, always losing to Peco, who dreams of becoming the best ping-pong player in the world. The club teacher, noticing Smile's hidden talent, is determined to help him gain the competitive spirit needed to succeed.

One day, Peco hears about an ex-national team player from China coming to Japan and drags Smile to observe their rival team at Tsujido High School. This encounter leads to a crushing defeat for Peco, shaking his confidence and making him question his dedication to the sport. Meanwhile, Smile begins intensive training under the guidance of the club coach, who sees his potential. As they prepare for the inter-high tournament, Smile and Peco must confront their own insecurities and ambitions, facing stronger opponents who push them to their limits.
