Koutetsujou no Kabaneri

During the industrial revolution, humanity faces a dire threat from monstrous creatures known as Kabane. These undead beings can only be killed by piercing their iron-coated hearts, and those bitten by them become Kabane themselves. To protect themselves, the people of the island of Hinomoto have built fortress stations and travel between them using steam-powered locomotives called Hayajiro.

Ikoma, a young man living in the Aragane station, has invented a weapon he believes can defeat the Kabane. He eagerly awaits his chance to test it. One night, Ikoma's opportunity arises when a Hayajiro goes out of control, and the station is attacked by Kabane. With the help of a mysterious girl named Mumei, Ikoma must use his invention to protect his home and fight back against the relentless Kabane horde.
