Keitarou Gentouga, once a promising spirit medium, becomes a recluse after a harrowing encounter with a malevolent spirit leaves his right hand cursed. Struggling to avoid the spectral world, he cautiously steps back into society, spurred by his childhood friend Eiko Houzuki to take a part-time job as a tutor. His first student, Yayoi Houzuki, is not only a prodigious academic but also a skilled psychic medium with a daunting goal. She is determined to track down the vengeful spirit responsible for her mother’s disappearance, a mission that pulls Keitarou back into the terrifying realm he vowed to escape.

Yayoi, with her unique ability to see spirits, believes that Keitarou’s cursed hand and his strong spiritual presence may be key to summoning and controlling other spirits that can aid their quest. Despite his fears, Keitarou joins Yayoi on a perilous journey through haunted locales, each encounter testing his resolve and forcing him to confront his past. As they navigate this chilling path, Keitarou must decide if he can overcome his fears to help Yayoi, potentially healing his own haunted past in the process.
