Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi have made significant strides since their middle school days of creating manga. Now known as the duo Muto Ashirogi, they are closer than ever to achieving their dream of getting an anime adaptation for their work. However, the path to success is fraught with challenges, including fierce competition from other talented mangaka and the pressure to maintain high rankings in Shounen Jack.

As they embark on their third serialization, Mashiro and Takagi face the daunting task of competing with the genius artist Eiji Niizuma. If they can't surpass him in the rankings within six months, their series will be canceled. Amidst the intense rivalry and tight deadlines, they must also navigate new friendships and rivalries, constantly pushing themselves to grow as artists and storytellers while striving to keep their dreams alive.
