Summary
Setsu Sawamura was raised in a small home village, where he was taught to play the shamisen by his grandfather, Matsugorou Sawamura, a legendary shamisen master. After Matsugorou's passing, Setsu was left with a warning from his grandfather to give up the shamisen if he couldn't find his own unique playing style. Grieving, Setsu decided to move to Tokyo in search of inspiration.
Setsu's mother, Umeko, a successful businesswoman, was worried about her son and convinced him to enroll in Umezono Academy. At the school, Setsu met Shuri Maeda, a girl with a passion for the Tsugaru shamisen who wished to perform a song her grandmother had once heard. She convinced Setsu to start up a shamisen appreciation club and teach the members how to play.
With the support of his friends, will Setsu be able to recover his love for the shamisen and discover his own unique sound?
