Summary
Mai Kawai had just graduated high school and was desperate to find a stable job and avoid turning out like her father. After trying to get a job from various places, the only place that accepted her was a police academy, which she reluctantly joined.
Mai quickly faced the harsh reality of the job, receiving constant criticism from the citizens. Disheartened, she decided to resign. However, on the same day she was due to quit, she met Seiko Fuji, the former ace of the Criminal Affairs Division, who was now her instructor. This changed her mind about leaving, and so she chose to stay and give her job another chance.
