Sumireko Ogawa, a bookstore clerk with ambitions of becoming a celebrated novelist, finds herself embroiled in the mysterious and supernatural occurrences spreading through her city. Alongside her, young and enigmatic coworker Ren Adashino, whose charm only slightly veils his secretive nature, joins her in this perilous hobby. Together, they dive deep into a world filled with urban legends, black magic, and ghost stories, seeking inspiration and answers. As Sumireko's innate ability to trigger magical events intersects with Ren's dark past, their quest for truth threatens to unravel more than just myths.

The pair's investigations lead them into increasingly dangerous situations, testing both their courage and their understanding of the otherworldly.
