Following a notable victory at the Kyoto Concert Band Competition, the Kitauji High School Concert Band, led by Kumiko Oumae, sets its sights on the prestigious Kansai competition. As the stakes rise, the band intensifies its practice under the guidance of their dedicated advisor, Noboru Taki, and other professional musicians during a rigorous summer camp. This period of focused training brings Kumiko closer to her friend Reina, but it also rekindles old conflicts within the band, particularly when a former member, Nozomi Kasaki, expresses a desire to return.

The request from Nozomi brings past grievances to the surface, challenging the unity and progress of the band. The ghost of the previous year's conflict, where many students left the band, looms large over the current members, creating a tension that threatens to disrupt their harmony. Kumiko finds herself navigating these troubled waters, balancing her personal growth and friendships with the overarching goal of leading the band to achieve gold at the Kansai competition.
