Ikoku Nikki
Journal with Witch
Summary
Grief turns an already quiet home into unfamiliar territory when a solitary novelist suddenly finds herself raising her teenage niece. With little experience of family life—and even less patience for emotional mess—she tries to offer stability while keeping her own distance.
Ikoku Nikki follows their uneasy days in the city as two very different women learn how to share space, speak honestly, and live with complicated feelings. Through small routines and private writing, it builds a tender, grounded portrait of coming of age, mourning, and the slow work of becoming a family.
