Summary
Several years after his childhood adventures, Goku lives peacefully with his wife Chi-Chi and their young son, Gohan. That peace ends when the alien warrior Raditz arrives on Earth, reveals Goku’s Saiyan origins, and places his family in danger. Facing an enemy far stronger than those from his past forces Goku to join Piccolo, his former rival, in a desperate fight.
The encounter opens the way to conflicts that reach far beyond Earth, drawing Goku, Gohan, and their allies into battles against increasingly powerful opponents. Martial arts training, alien worlds, fierce rivalries, extraordinary transformations, and the wish-granting Dragon Balls shape an action-focused adventure that also retains the humor and close friendships of the wider series.
Dragon Ball Kai is a re-edited and remastered presentation of Dragon Ball Z. It condenses the original story by removing much of its anime-exclusive material, creating a faster pace that follows Akira Toriyama’s manga more closely, while also featuring restored visuals, revised sound, and newly recorded dialogue.
