In a world ravaged by the Gastrea virus, humanity is on the brink of extinction. The virus rapidly mutates its hosts, granting them monstrous powers and abilities. Forced to retreat, the remnants of mankind now live within cities surrounded by giant monoliths made of Varanium, the only material capable of stopping the Gastrea. Humanity's last hope lies in the Cursed Children—young girls infected with the virus who have retained their humanity and possess superhuman abilities.

These Cursed Children are paired with Promoters, their partners who guide and protect them. Together, they form Civil Securities, teams tasked with combating the Gastrea threat. Among these teams are high school student Rentaro Satomi and his Initiator, Enju Aihara. As they undertake dangerous missions to protect Tokyo, they navigate the complexities of a society that fears and shuns the very children who might be its salvation.
