Summary
Legend says that Vanitas, a vampire born under a blue moon, created a cursed grimoire, the Book of Vanitas. Outcasted by other vampires, Vanitas is said to have been planning to use the book for retribution.
In 19th century Paris, Noé Archiviste is on a mission to find the Book of Vanitas. When he is saved from a vampire attack by Vanitas, an eccentric doctor, he realizes that the doctor is actually a human who inherited both his name and the book from his master, the same Vanitas of legend.
