Summary
The Shadows are a mysterious family of nobles who live in a large manor hidden away in the mountains. They are known for their dark skin and the soot they emit when they become agitated. When a Shadow child is almost grown, they are assigned a Living Doll, who acts as both their attendant and their other half.
Emilico is a newly created Doll who serves a shy master named Kate. Although they have different personalities, Emilico tries her best to fulfill her duties. As she gets to know the other Dolls and their masters, she starts to understand the purpose of her existence.
One of the rules that all Dolls must follow is to not worry about small things. But how can Emilico ignore the secrets that the Shadows House holds?
