Summary
Wisteria is an orphaned girl, living a desolate life on the outskirts of the British Empire at the end of the 19th century. But one day, she meets Marbas, a powerful yet lonely being who has been hunted by humans. Marbas is an immortal creature with a furry appearance.
Together, Wisteria and Marbas journey across the British Empire searching for somewhere safe where they can be together. They face creatures that are mostly human-like, but also encounter many other wondrous and strange sights.
