Summary
Post-war life in the city has given rise to the Extended—humans converted into living weapons. Juuzou Inui, whose head has been transformed into a gun, is one of these Extended. With no recollection of his previous life, he operates as a resolver of Extended-related cases, navigating a gritty urban landscape rife with corruption and despair. Alongside him is Mary, a young genius who provides technical support, together tackling the city's most complicated disputes.
Their lives take a dramatic turn when Juuzou encounters a renegade Extended carrying a child who seems to hold the key to a major corporate scandal involving the Berühren Corporation. This incident plunges them into the dark underbelly of the city, where they must protect the child from various factions—including street gangs and the megacorporation itself—all while uncovering the truth behind the child's importance. As they peel back layers of deceit, Juuzou not only faces external threats but also confronts the shadows of his own forgotten history, which may be more intertwined with the city's current turmoil than he ever anticipated.
