Rosewood Academy, a prestigious institution dedicated to shaping the next generation of heroes, becomes the setting for an intriguing encounter between two extraordinary students. Arnest Flaming, known as the "Empress of Flame," holds the top record at the academy and is revered for her unwavering dedication and strength. Her routine is disrupted by the arrival of Blade, a cheerful new student with a mysterious past as a hero who once defeated a powerful demon lord. Despite losing a significant portion of his power, Blade’s presence rivals that of Arnest’s, challenging her position and stirring competition.

Tasked with helping Blade integrate into the academy, Arnest confronts her own notions of what it means to be a hero. Blade, with his light-hearted approach and a desire to forge friendships rather than rivalries, quickly becomes popular among the students.
