Tasogare Out Focus

Mao Tsuchiya, a film enthusiast, and his lone wolf roommate, Hisashi Otomo, establish three ground rules to ensure a peaceful dorm life: Mao will never reveal that Hisashi is gay and has a boyfriend, Hisashi will never approach Mao romantically, and they will respect each other's private time. Despite these promises, reality proves to be more complicated than expected.

Their second year of cohabitation takes an unexpected turn when the film club, to which Mao belongs, wants Hisashi to play the lead in a boys' love movie. This disrupts their established boundaries, leading Mao to become increasingly conscious of Hisashi's presence. As Mao grapples with his evolving feelings, he finds it harder to maintain the purely platonic nature of their relationship.
