In the near future, androids that look exactly like humans have become commonplace. Among them are Giftias, created by SA Corp, known for their exceptional human-like qualities and emotions. However, Giftias have a limited service life, and once they exceed it, they start to malfunction severely. To manage this, SA Corp. establishes the Terminal Service to retrieve expired Giftias. Tsukasa Mizugaki, an 18-year-old who failed his college entrance exams, joins this service team and is partnered with Isla, a Giftia tasked with retrieving others of her kind.

Despite her petite appearance and seemingly minor role within the team, Isla is experienced and highly skilled at her job. As Tsukasa and Isla work together to recover expired Giftias, Tsukasa learns the complexities of the Giftia's emotions and struggles with his growing feelings for Isla. Their journey becomes a poignant exploration of the impermanence of life and the value of each moment shared.
