Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Edward and Alphonse Elric were two brothers who were not satisfied with the laws of nature. They decided to break the rules of alchemy and try to bring their dead mother back to life. But their experiment went horribly wrong and they suffered great losses. Alphonse lost his body, and Edward lost his leg and an arm.

Thankfully, the Elric brothers were saved by their neighbor, Pinako Rockbell, and her granddaughter Winry. Winry was a prodigy in bio-mechanical engineering, and created prosthetic limbs for Edward out of a special metal called automail. After years of training, Edward and Alphonse set out on a quest to restore their bodies by finding the Philosopher's Stone, a magical gem that could defy Equivalent Exchange and restore their bodies.

Edward became known as "Fullmetal" as the brothers became involved in a dangerous conspiracy that could destroy the world.
