Summary
When aliens known as the Oni threaten to invade Earth, they offer humanity a deal; if a randomly chosen human can beat Lum, the beautiful daughter of the Oni leader, in a game of tag, the Oni will withdraw. Little did Ataru Moroboshi know his luck would be so poor that he'd be chosen as the human representative. With a promise of marriage from his childhood friend Shinobu Miyake, Ataru manages to catch up to Lum. After he seizes her horns, she misunderstands and decides to move in with him.
Ataru's heroic feat does not end as expected, leaving him with the arduous task of trying to shake Lum off and reconcile with Shinobu. His luck has yet to be seen, as he has yet to learn whether his efforts will resontate in a happy end or not.
