Fed up with society, youngsters around Neo-Tokyo formed tribes to find their place in the world. However, group loyalty often led to violence. To counter this, the government implemented the XB Law, which stated that tribe conflict must be resolved through Extreme Baseball. This futuristic version of the sport has modified rules, less restrictions and bizarre applications of technology, like using extendable bats and pitchers wearing special equipment.

When bullied spineless Haru Shirokane is saved by Shun Kamiya and Taiga, he discovers that Shun is a star player of Extreme Baseball and the leader of the Minato Tribe, the top-ranked team in Minato City. Taiga, on the other hand, wants to defeat Shun and become the strongest in the sport. Thus, Shun and Taiga rope Haru into joining the Minato Tribe.

The Minato Tribe soon faces a new threat from the mysterious Oujirou Otori. To overcome this challenge, they might need the power of their two new rookies. Will the Minato Tribe be able to come out unscathed?
