Ichiko Sakura is blessed with an extraordinary amount of good fortune, making her life almost perfect with beauty, intelligence, athletic prowess, and wealth. However, this luck comes at a cost: Ichiko unknowingly absorbs happiness energy from those around her, creating an imbalance in the world. Enter Momiji, the poverty goddess tasked with taking away Ichiko's ability to drain the luck of others. Momiji’s mission is to restore balance to the world, but Ichiko, content with her blessed life, fiercely resists the goddess’s attempts.

Momiji’s efforts to reclaim Ichiko's fortune lead to a series of comedic and chaotic encounters. Armed with an array of bad luck devices and joined by her teddy bear familiar, Kumagai, and the masochistic dog god, Momoo Inugami, Momiji moves into Ichiko's home, turning her life upside down. As the battle for balance unfolds, Ichiko must navigate these supernatural challenges while trying to maintain her fabulous lifestyle.
