Summary
A childish contest has turned into something much harder to laugh off. Ever since elementary school, two childhood friends have kept up a strange game built around saying “I love you” and trying to make the other lose their composure first. Now that they are in high school, the teasing still feels playful, but the feelings underneath it are becoming much more difficult to ignore.
Built around a school romance full of hesitation, pride, and mixed signals, the story follows a boy and girl who both seem more comfortable hiding behind the rules of their long-running game than speaking honestly. Their back-and-forth gives the comedy a light, familiar charm, while the awkwardness, jealousy, and quiet tenderness give the relationship a more heartfelt coming-of-age feel.
