Tonari no Youkai-san

Welcome to Engamori, a quaint town nestled in the mountains where the mystical and mundane seamlessly blend. Here, supernatural beings known as Yokai live side by side with humans, sharing a peaceful existence that has spanned generations. This summer, however, the town buzzes with unusual activity as Buchio, a twenty-year-old cat, mysteriously transforms into a nekomata, sparking his quest to understand more about his sudden change. Alongside Yuri, a kitsune also experiencing transformations, they delve into the arcane secrets of their evolution.

As Buchio and Yuri embark on their journey of discovery, other residents of Engamori face their own peculiar challenges. Muu-chan, a local resident, becomes intrigued by Jirou, a crow tengu performing ancient duties, and sees him in a new light. Meanwhile, whispers about an unfortunate Nue stir unease among the townsfolk. Together, these stories weave a tapestry of life in Engamori, where every day is a blend of simple pleasures and supernatural wonders, revealing the deep bonds and mysteries that tie the inhabitants to their unique town.
