Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut
Information
Summary
On November 23, 1957, the world saw the Federal Republic of Zirnitra send the first live animal to space: a dog. This sparked a space race between Zirnitra and its competitor, the United Kingdom of Arnack, as both countries hoped to one day send humans to the cosmos. To understand the effects of space travel on the human body, Zirnitra's government decided to experiment on vampires, whose biology is similar to humans.
Irina Luminesk, a vampire taken from her home in the mountains, showed no resistance and was even willing to train as a test subject. Lev Leps, a former top candidate to become the first human cosmonaut, was assigned to accompany Irina and act as her guide. Through their time together, Irina and Lev shared a mutual love for outer space, drawing them closer.
