Summary
In the vibrant city of Orario, where gods mingle with humans, the vast Dungeon beneath the city beckons adventurers with the promise of treasure and danger. Among these adventurers is Bell Cranel, a young and earnest hopeful whose dreams of glory are fueled not just by the desire for adventure, but also by a slightly more romantic ambition: to meet and rescue damsels in distress. Supported by his goddess, Hestia, Bell plunges into the Dungeon’s depths, ready to face whatever challenges await him. Yet, he quickly discovers that the reality of adventure is far different from his dreams, as he often finds himself on the receiving end of rescue, particularly by the skilled swordswoman Ais Wallenstein.
Bell's journey is further complicated by the involvement of powerful goddesses like Freya, Hephaistos, and Loki, whose machinations reveal the intricate and perilous politics of divine beings. As Bell navigates through deadly encounters in the Dungeon, he must also maneuver the delicate dynamics on the surface. With each foray into the labyrinth, Bell grows not only in strength but in character, forging friendships and rivalries that shape his path as an adventurer, all while striving to live up to the heroic ideal he has always imagined.
